Videos, DVDs and
CD Roms
Various videos have been made of our films since 1984 but
they long ago fell victim to the conventional wisdom that our
films were too old-fashioned to be offered to "the children
of today". However, time and potty theories of fashion
have no meaning for the Dragons' Friendly Society, and they
have duly disinterred the rusty tins and produced five magnificent
videos . . .

two
of the Pogles and one double cassette containing all the Noggin
films, including the very first one, which was one of our earliest,
that had not been shown for well over thirty years. These may
be obtained from:
www.dragons-friendly-society.co.uk,
which has also produced:
The TROUBLE WITH
MAGIC,
a CD Rom book in which I tell the classic
story-cycle of The Pogles and
the Witch
(nb. This is very scary!) |

and The Pingwings, which is a DVD of a set of long-lost
films about the life and times of a family of small woolly
persons who lived in the Firmins’ barn, forty years
ago.
(nb. This is not a bit scary!) |
Following the award "The best childrens' programme ever" that
was presented to me, Bagpuss, in 1998, I am happy to say that a new set
of four definitive compendious videos of our colour films has been released,
both in video and DVD, by Universal Pictures UK.

. . . these are: The Complete Clangers
Series I and series II.
The Complete Bagpuss and The Complete Ivor the Engine.
They can be bought from shops or through www.amazon.co.uk.
They are hugely popular and from the great numbers that have
been sold one is tempted to conclude that the "children
of today" are not stupid after all.
